Here are a few tips of different parts of the game that should help you make better decisions on how to play certain shots. I call this good play management as there is more to the game than just the physical act of hitting a ball. A huge part of the game in regards to scoring is your decision making. The mental side of the game. I might mention that patience play’s a big part of the mental side also.

Now on to the long game. In this article and upcoming articles, I will cover equipment, some set up basics, swing basics, swing drills, proper club selection, rules and etiquette. These articles do not cover much in the way of swing fundamentals except for those fundamentals that are common for all players. Always remember that no two players swing the same. Nor should they. You also have your own set up (body posture and grip). We are not robots.

I planned with this article to finish off with putting but have had a change of mind. Instead, we will cover speed of play and procedures that help you play your game in a reasonable and acceptable amount of time. Next article will be on putting.
