District of Houston staff requested the approval from Houston council to apply for funding of $30,000 from Active Communities Grant for the affordable recreation program.

According to a report presented at the District of Houston council meeting on July 4, a request was recently received from an local business owner asking to operate in Steelhead Park as a mobile vendor and to connect to hydro, water, and sanitary sewer.

On July 4, 2017 at the water reservoir tower located past Four Seasons Park, District of Houston council and contractors broke ground for the $2.36 million project.

On July 6, 2017 the new BC Transit bus shelters were installed in Houston located in front of the Houston Leisure Facility. The Hwy. 16 bus service runs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to Smithers and Burns Lake. For more information on transit schedule visit www.bctransit.com
