I have worked for Black Press since 1996. I started advertising for the Interior News in Smithers. After five years in Smithers, I was moved to Burns Lake to take the position of publisher for Lakes District News. A few years later I also became the publisher of Houston Today. I actively volunteer in both communities, working with the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and many others. I have my Applied Management certificate, Marketing Management diploma, and Business Administration diploma. I love both of the communities I work in and I am happy to play a part in the success of both newspapers.

I have been creating ads and working mostly in production for the Lakes District News and Houston Today for over 25 years. I grew up in the Fraser Valley but immediately fell in love with the North after moving here in 1996. In my spare time, I enjoy painting and spending time outdoors exploring with my husband and two dogs.

I am the front office manager for the Houston Today and also the photographer. I have been working for Black Press Media since 2020. I love living in Houston and I enjoy being an integral part of this community and Black Press Media.

Community Projects Content Producer
My journey into writing began as a child filling journals with my observations and eventually, using my camera. As a young adult, I started working as a photographer, later returning to school to study fine arts. After taking an elective in women’s studies, I pivoted and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice from UBC. I spent my next chapter working as a photographer and writer in the USA before returning to BC to work as a full-time writer for Black Press Media. I love the sunshine, books, and getting lost in conversations with friends.
