Wiepke (Bill) Reitsma, age 92, went home to his Lord on September 8, 2011. He was born in Schettens, Friesland (The Netherlands) on March 10, 1919. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Elly; children, Robert (Deborah) of Alto, MI; Julie (Jim) Ippel of Terrace, BC; Henry (Dorothy) of Houston, BC; Charles (Joyce) of Houston, BC; Margaret (Ray) Matthews of Houston BC; Rita (Bud) Sherman of Gynne AB. Wiepke was predeceased by a son, Fred.
During WWII he was active in the underground while Holland was occupied by Germany. On April 2, 1953 he emigrated to Canada with his wife and four children; they were blessed with two more children once they arrived in Canada. After working for the Houston Planer Company, he started plumbing and eventually founded Reitsma Plumbing and Heating. Bill was actively involved in the beginnings of the Houston Christian School. He was an active member of Houston Christian Reformed Church serving in various capacities. A memorial service was held on
