June 9, 1921 – November 18, 2019
Terry was raised in Saskatchewan at St. Denis; about 20 miles from Saskatoon City. She trained as a school teacher and travelled west for her first position at Houston, BC to teach in a one room school. She met her husband, Carl McKilligan and they married in June, 1944. Terry cooked at Carl’s first sawmilling camp till her second child was soon to be born.
She home schooled the first three of her children for most of their education, but went back teaching at Houston, BC. when it was time for their fourth child, Carol, to begin grade one. Terry was always an avid gardener, even tilling the soil herself with her tractor. She canned a lot of vegetables, fruit and made jam and delicious pies. Terry cooked many meals for customers when Carl was involved with his Pacific Tractor & Equipment dealership.
She was predeceased by her husband, is survived by all of her children, grand-children and great grand-children and was buried in a graveside service at the Houston Cemetary.
Rest in peace, Mom.
