Nurjehan Mohamed Vanstone (nee Gool)

Nuri passed away on January 31, 2012 in Victoria, B.C. She was born in Capetown, South Africa on July 12, 1926. She was a world traveller, an internationally recognized fabric artist, eclectic cook, wonderful story teller and a gracious and generous hostess to friends, family and strangers. She was indeed the “light of the world”. She is predeceased by her first husband Sadik, twin sister Zarina and sister Naz. She is survived by sons Saubrie (Christine), Hilmi (Deborah), and Reza all of British Columbia and daughter Rehana (Robert) of Whitehorse, Yukon, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many other relatives scattered around the globe.

A funeral service was held on February 5th, in Port Alberni, B.C. Donations to Royal Jubilee Hospital, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Victoria Firefighters or Canadian Cancer Society gratefully accepted.
