Nikola Joseph Krizmanich passed away on July 5, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. Born on January 5, 1939, Nick was one of eight children born to Josip Krizmanic' and Ana Ferderbar. He grew up in Croatia, and came to Canada in 1968. After spending years in both Edmonton, AB, and Port Hardy, BC, he would eventually settle in Topley, BC, where he remained until his death. Nick is survived by Esther, his loving wife of 39 years, and their children Nicole and Nicholas; he is also survived by Diane and Dennis, his children with his first wife Lydia.
Nick leaves behind grandchildren Amanda Beneke (Oliver), Jordan Krizmanich, Kyle (Tiffany), Justine (Arun), and Kristy (Miguel) McBurney, and his great-grandchildren Rory, Lydia, and Cooper. He is mourned by his sisters Evica and Zorica, his many family members in Croatia, and the numerous co-workers and friends who knew him over the years.
Nick was predeceased by his first wife Lydia Krizmanich, his grandson Kelly Krizmanich, his sisters Kate, Maria, and Slavica, and his brothers Mirko and Janko.
Nick touched the lives of many with his smile, his generousity, and his humour throughout his lifetime. He will truly be missed. He was laid to rest on July 14, 2020.
The Krizmanich family would like to thank everybody for their love and support during this difficult time, and would especially like to recognize Val Sketchley, Bill Therrien, Steve Sherman, Rob Saunders, Glen McCracken,the members of the Topley Fire Protection Society and Topley Volunteer Fire Department, Fr. Jack Michalchuk, the volunteers of St. Anthony's Parish, and Grace Memorial Funeral Home.
