"I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day
And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray
When in the Lords great landing net and peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged big enough to keep".
It is with heavy hearts that we as a collective family share the passing of Neil Paquette at the age of 86. He passed from this earth peacefully in his sleep during the early hours of April 26, 2020, at Terraceview Lodge with family by his side. Neil made his home in Houston, BC. He enjoyed working with and for the community, whether it was re modelling living spaces, building shops, or volunteering his skills and knowledge with various churches and public support organizations. Spending time and having fun with his family and friends was very important to Neil. Most of all, he enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed fishing with you, out fishing you, and being out fished by you, and telling you stories when you gave him any opening. He loved where he lived, and spoke of his community relationship with all of you anytime we spent time together. As a collective family, we appreciate your thoughts and prayers through this time. Neil wished for no ceremonies and we will honour those wishes. In lieu of flowers please make a local donation in his memory to something, or someone in your community that means something to you. He would have liked that. We would also like to share one of his favorite verses ....
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
