February 8, 1935 - July 19, 2020
Muriel Anne Hamblin (Shearer) passed away July 19, 2020 in the Smithers Hospital. She was 85 years old. Born February 8, 1935 to David and Muriel Shearer of Vancouver, BC. She was one of three children. She grew up in the city of Vancouver and did her teachers education there as well. She taught in a few places in BC before arriving in Houston in 1959, as a single woman. It was here she met her soon to be husband John.
She enjoyed her life in Houston immensely and had two children, which she adored. She was an avid crafter, crocheting some of the most exquisite doileys. She belonged to a few clubs, and was quick to volunteer her time.
Muriel hardly ever missed her children's practices, games or events. Thisheld true when the grandkids started in sports or had events. We were blessed to to be part of her life and she will be missed by her husband John of 60 years, and her children Ian and Cathy, her daughter-in-law Elaine and son-in-law Mike. Her grandchildren Ian, Marla, Chad and Tarah Hamblin. Connor, Tyler, and Josh Thomas. Her two great grand-daughters, Kinsley and Peyton, and only great grandson Kristian. She was predeceased by her mother Muriel, father David, sister Grace and brother David.
As per her wishes there will be no service.
