It's with much sorrow and love that we announce the sudden passing of Lee Westergard in Prince George, British Columbia on May 28, 2022. Lee, 89 years of age, succumbed to injuries received in a fall at the family home in Houston, British Columbia on May 25th.
Lee was born on May 1st 1933 in Mildred, Saskatchewan to Thorvald and Maria Westergard (Rasmussen).
He was predeceased by his parents and five siblings.
As a teenager Lee left the farm and moved to Regina Saskatchewan where he met the love of his life Janette. They were married in Regina May 23rd, 1952 and in 1953 moved to Burns Lake, British Columbia. Lee and Janette loved the north and its people raising their family there and ultimately retiring in Houston.
He had a love for the outdoors which lasted a lifetime. His passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoor life has been passed down to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Lee is survived by his wife Janette, with whom he had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his six children; Judy (Adrian), Mike (Lise), Mark (Margit), Elaine (Wilfred), Donna, Caroline (Peter). As well Lee & Janette have 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
At Lee's request there will not be a funeral.
