On September 17, 2008 Harry lost his courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by Shannon, his wife of 37 years, his sons; hockey pool partner Ryan (Jennifer), and Mark (Sabrina), his best fishing buddy. Little Olivia, Ryder, Sophie and the new baby due next year will hear many stories about their Grampa.

Predeceased by his parents, he leaves behind his brothers and sisters, numerous nephews, nieces and in-laws, as well as a host of friends, co-workers and neighbors.

There are some things that he would have wanted us to pass on…

To his poker pals, he has enjoyed nothing more than to sit with you over a game of cards, dealer’s choice of course, not “hold em”.

Thank you to the hockey poolsters for your generous donations over the years. It helped with Ryan’s college tuition!

To the LB Paving crew, it was a pleasure to work with all of you. It takes a good crew to put down a solid road, and we were the best. If there was ever a bump, it was likely when we were playing BS poker on the back of the paver!

I left some big ones in the river this year for my fellow fishermen, but Mark will soon be showing Ryder everything I taught him, so look out.

To my wife and sons, thank you for making me a happy and proud man.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bishop and the wonderful staff at PGRH Cancer Clinic, as well as those at the “Hot Spice” house who made Harry’s last weeks comfortable, and helped us on this journey.

Internment will be at the Houston cemetery at 1:00 with a 2:30 service to follow at the Christian Reformed Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to complete the much needed Rotary Hospice House expansion project would have made Harry happy.
