It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerhard Raudzus (Gerry).

Born in Bochum, Germany, Gerry immigrated to Canada in 1952. Upon coming to Canada Gerry lived and worked in numerous places prior to settling in Houston. This included operating dairy farms in Saskatchewan and Alberta, being employed as a miner in Keno Hill, Yukon; Britannia Mines near Squamish B.C. as well as such historical projects as the blasting of Ripple Rock in 1958.

Gerry eventually started his own excavation company working in the Vancouver area and Gold River, BC prior to moving with his family to Houston in 1969, where they owned and operated Gerry’s Trailer Court and Gerry’s Power Digging Ltd.

Gerry was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion #249 and was a passed Exalted Ruler of the Houston Elk’s Lodge.

Gerry is survived by his wife Inge, his daughter Simone Snyder (Lee), granddaughters Chantel and Mikala as well as his sister Hanne Wesemeier.

Gerry loved life and will be greatly missed by his loving family and numerous friends.

As per Gerry’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
