In loving memory ~
Darrell passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, of heart failure at his home in Okanagan Falls at the age of 81. He will be greatly missed by Sandi, his wife of 53 years, and his daughters, Jenn (Erik), Steph (Dave), Nardene (Robin) and eight grandchildren, as well as his sisters Judy (Greg) and Kim (Nolan).
Darrell was born in Winnipeg and worked in Churchill and Thompson, MB before moving to Whitehorse, YK where he met and married Sandi. They moved to Vernon, BC in 1975 where Darrell built numerous houses and owned and operated a logging truck. In 1984, they moved to Houston, BC where they lived for thirty years and where Darrell also worked in logging and construction.
Darrell enjoyed his prospecting passion, camping every weekend rain or shine, fishing the many lakes and rivers in BC and the Yukon, and travelling to Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean. His favourite pastime was harassing the waitresses at PV's. Retiring to OK Falls in 2014 and spending the winters boondocking in Quartzsite and Yuma, AZ fulfilled a lifelong dream.
A memorial get-together will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the OK Falls Fire Dept and BC Ambulance first responders, and Cst. Liz Vant Erve; you are angels on Earth.
