On Nov. 21 the Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre Society used funding from Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity Recreational Council (I-SPARC) to fund a cultural workshop on hide tanning. The workshop was taught by 32 year old Leo, a Houston community member, who had learned from a taxidermist in Quebec. Seen here is student,William who is preparing the hide for stretching by removing the hair. Workshops for beading, traditional art and archery are to start in January.
