Fire Burning near Atna Lake, by Houston is burning more aggressively today.

The fire that has been burning near Atna Lake near Houston is burning more aggressively today causing a plume of smoke to roll into the Lakes District. Lindsay Carnes from the Northwest Fire Centre said people should not be alarmed as the fire is a long distance from Burns Lake and the town  of Houston. She went on to explain that the hot weather we experienced today allowed the smoke to rise approximately 20,000 feet and as soon as it started cooling the wind came up and blew in a large plume of smoke. They are not responding to the fire as of yet but she did say that they would reassess it tomorrow. Watch for an update later tomorrow.
