Houston RCMP say a months-long drug trafficking investigation turned into an arrest on Nov. 28.

On that day officers with a search warrant went to a Houston residence to then discover a person of interest hiding in a neighbouring yard.

“The man was bound by a release order from a prior incident and was arrested and held in custory pending a bail hearing,” a police release indicated.

The release said the arrest and then seizure of $4,000 in Canadian currency, paraphernalia used in the illicit drugs trade and 20 grams of suspected cocaine followed an investigation that began in early September.

“RCMP received information that an individual, known to police, was involved in drug trafficking in the Houston area. Police gathered evidence over the course of 2.5 months that is consistent with drug trafficking,” the police release stated.

“The investigation continues. Anyone with any information on this is asked to call the Houston RCMP at (250) 845-2204,” police said.
