At 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 in front of a wall to wall packed room of family and friends, the drama students of Houston Secondary School preformed ‘Highway 16 News’. A play which the students wrote, preformed and did all the technical work on. The students covered the weather report from Prince Rupert to Prince George with the weather correspondent prepared to be underwater from the constant rain, a shark attack, serial killer on the lose, a large spider attack and in the sports segment the Smithers Slytherins were against the Prince George Bombers as a fight broke out and there was also a part on fashion. The play was preformed on a 12’ x 8’ plywood stage. The cast and tech crew were made up of the 26 drama students from Grades 8-12. The play was the class’s year end project to earn credits.
