Christmas light up in Houston

Houston came out for the annual Christmas light-up and Plaid Friday celebrations. Steelhead Park is now lit up and looks beautiful as usual. There was lots of festivities with free hot dogs and hot chocolate plus great specials at local businesses.. The Houston & District Chamber of Commerce organized the annual light-up. After the power was switched on to all the lights that are decorating Steelhead Park many made their way through the park to enjoy the twinkle and set up of the lights. (Angelique Houlihan photo/Houston Today)

The Christmas Light Up event is held annually. The lights are appreciated by railway passengers from the train tracks that run along the north side of Steelhead Park as well as traffic passing by on Highway 16 that runs on the south side of the Park. Houston is well known for producing this beautiful display.

Every year around this time, the parking lot to the Chamber Of Commerce is blocked off from highway entry and they host a count down to Houston celebrating the Christmas Light Up. (Angelique Houlihan photo/ Houston Today)
