Houston skaters; Practice makes perfect

Houston Figure Skating Club recently held a test day at the Claude Parish Memorial Arena. Figure skaters progress through standardized tests that are sanctioned by Skate Canada. This allows them to advance in levels in the following disciplines: ice dance, skating skills, and freeskate.

The following tests were passed: Connie Bruns – Star 1 Dance, Star 2A Dance, Addie Chaffer - Star 1 Dance, Star 2A Dance, Brenna Rodway - Star 1 Dance, Star 2A Dance, Darby Mackenzie - Star 1 Dance, Star 2A Dance, Alessa McLearn - Star 1 Dance, Star 2A Dance, Isabelle McLearn - Star 1 Dance, Star 2A Dance, Charlotte Mackenzie - Star 1 Dance, Star 2A Dance

Haley Waldie - Star 1 Dance, Kaydence Kaszas – Star 4A Dance, Star 4B Dance, Introductory Interpretive, Hanna Bhatti - Star 4A Dance, Star 4B Dance, Introductory Interpretive, Emilee McLearn – Star 5A Dance, Star 5B Dance, Introductory Interpretive ,Jordyn Brent – Introductory Interpretive, Hailey Kettle – Ten Fox Dance, 14 Step Dance, Paige McEwen – 14 Step Dance, Savannah Sommerfeld – 14 Step Dance

Head coach, Stephanie Auston said that the club is really thriving, and that all of the programs are doing very well. There has been a lot of progres from the skaters and great competition results including Gold Rankings at the recent Regional Championships.

Auston said, “It is great to see the club doing so well and we are all looking forward to our upcoming skating carnival March 16 & 17, 2018.
