On Feb. 13 the children of the Beanstalk Daycare walked over to the Cottonwood Manor to give out hand made Valentines to the ladies residing in the manor. Knowing that the children were coming the ladies got seated in their chairs and had their treats for the children close by. After the children handed out their Valentines the Grandmas then handed out little chocolate and dinosaur treats to the children. The room was filled with all the little voices chattering and telling stories. One youngster was saying how he saw a bear walk down the street. To the Beanstalk Daycare children the ladies at Cottonwood Seniors Home are called “The Grandmas” and over the past few years a very special relationship has been developed and the children spend time with the Grandmas doing crafts and sharing special moments. At the end of the visit the children said goodbye till next time and even gave big hugs. Truly beautiful. (Angelique Houlihan photo/Houston Today)
