Ringette is starting

Houston ringette held its first week of practice. With the Houston arena not ready due to upgrades being needed, the teams have arranged to have practices in Burns Lake. The U16 team have gone to provincials and have placed gold and silver in the last two years and the U14 team also qualified for provincials last year and just missed the gold medal game.

This year they are dedicated as ever to qualify for provincials again, including having to drive an hour each way two times a week for practice in Burns Lake, and off-ice training after school. The younger players, ages 4 to 12 will also have ice time in Burns Lake every Sunday, as well as ‘gym ringette’ to work on passing and shooting skills. The young players are very dedicated and they all look forward to their first league tournament in Terrace. (Submitted photos)
