A fire in a home on upper Mountainview caused extensive damage March 26.
“The roof of the structure was burnt off and collapsed into the main living space,” reported Houston fire chief Jim Daigneault of the blaze.
“Along with the amount of water used, the damage is fairly extensive,” he said.
Nineteen members of the Houston Volunteer Fire Department spent six and a half hours at the scene, using two fire engines and a couple of other support vehicles.
Police blocked road access to the location to allow firefighters to better fight the fire.
As of March 26, the fire’s origin had not been confirmed.
But Daigneault did caution people who use wood stoves to make sure they are in good condition and to clean the chimney regularly.
