The Lakes District Food Bank and Life Enhancement Societies’ work is very important to remote Granisle for about 30 recipients. We may not fully understand the drastic needs of remote communities in B.C., but this is a critical need for B.C. residents where too many, and not enough, volunteers have a silent voice. Being a new resident in the region, with a journalistic eye, I recognize the contributions of selfless, nameless people. There are so many of these in this region (Bulkley-Nechako), it makes my job voluminous and large.

Supporters of the food bank effort are: Walmart, Whole Sale Foods, Save-On Foods and the plethora of other supporters (us too!), it is truly amazing what we are all accomplishing. The region is charitable, period. Look at the Lakes District Food Bank web page on Facebook and think, or volunteer yourself:

The brain behind the operation is Candice Little, she did it! She made it work. With her team of elves, of course. Kudos to all and a very Merry Christmas! To all of you helpers! Massai, mek’si cho!

Kudos to those in society who know to do the work.

Sincerely,

Josee Bonhomme, Granisle
