B.C. United Leader Kevin Falcon was in Houston July 19, making an appearance at a 4-H function and then at a meet and greet with Shane Brienen, his candidate in the Nechako Lakes riding in this fall's provincial election.

Houston was one of several northwestern and central interior stops for Falcon, also the official leader of the opposition in the provincial legislature,

Prince George, Vanderhoof and Fraser Lake were also on Falcon's visiting list.

And on July 20, he was at Billy Barker Days in Quesnel, that community's largest annual community festival.

The Nechako Lakes riding, which starts west of Houston and then sweeps east taking in Vanderhoof and Fort St. James, will be a key riding to watch in the provincial election this October.

That's because it is now held by John Rustad, the current leader of the provincial Conservatives who was a B.C. United member until dismissed by Falcon for his skepticism about climate change.
