Easter is approaching and the Houston Public Library held an Easter egg hunt on March 21 starting at 2:30 p.m. Youth ages two to 12 gathered – the 18 attending youth were each given a laminated egg with its own unique design printed on it and at 2:30 the door opened the children began hunting for matching eggs to the one they were given. They had five minutes to search and eggs were found on shelves, in drawers, in cupboards and along furniture. Some youth had parents leading the way and some were paired with siblings. children. Once the five minutes were up the children counted how many eggs they had gathered. The more eggs they found gave each child more chances for prizes that were drawn.
