A National Indigenous Peoples Day event was held on June 19, 2025 at the Houston Community Hall. Activities and presentations were spread throughout the day to share the culture and traditions of Indigenous people. The event was organized by the Dze L K'ant Friendship Centre. Doors opened at 10:30 a.m. to welcome attendees. Workshops were available on drumming, smudge, and Devils Club. The Northern Spirit Dancers made a performance and a complimentary lunch was served. The event had a welcoming table at which one could enter draws for door prizes.
