Gallery: Houston celebrates Canada Day

Over 400 people attended celebration

Over 400 youth, families, friends, residents of Houston attended the Canada Day Celebrations at Jaimie Baxter Park on July 1. It all started with the bike parade that assembled at the Houston Leisure Facility and then proceeded along the walking bridge over to Jaimie Baxter Park. There were prizes for best decorated bike and runner ups. Houston showed up in a big way for this celebration, all sporting red and white with a smile. At the end of the day youth and the first responder crews gathered in the Jamie Baxter Ball Field for a good old-fashioned water fight. Water guns, sponges, bottles, buckets were all allowed and the fire department had the hose out and giving off a little spray every now and then. The celebrations went from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
