Crowd enjoys annual mud bog event

Houston and area residents gathered Sept. 21 and Sept. 22 for the annual mud bog races which this year took on a special purpose.

Brad Andrews, a past mud bog race volunteer, has contracted ALS and proceeds from the event this year are going directly to himself and to his family to support them.

Wife Jaden was racing in his place this year.

The races are organized each year by the Nadina Off Road Society and the family friendly event always proves to be a crowd-pleaser as drivers of custom-crafted vehicles do their best to churn along a mud-filled stretch.

Once again the Houston Volunteer Fire Department prepared the bogs while paramedics were on hand to address any safety concerns.

There were 47 vehicles registered this year.
