A Rocha Nature Centre put out a call for volunteers to help with the annual clean up of Buck Creek’s river banks. About 10 volunteers showed up for the big task and successfully collected five extra large garbage bags of litter. The 10 people split into two groups with each cleaning up a side of the creek on April 27 from 1-4 p.m. The Buck Creek Clean up was held at the same time as the Community Pitch In project which was initiated by Houston Chamber of Commerce. The clean up participants were welcomed to receive a free slurpee from 7/11 convenience store. Clean up efforts from schools and community businesses have been underway all week long since Earth Day on April 22. Thanks to the community effort our town is looking litter free.
