Three to five year olds enjoy some painting activities at the Summer Reading Club last Wednesday. There are 98 children registered in the programs, run by Summer Student Jessica Vanderheide and Program Coordinator Marlee Johnson at the Houston Public Library. The program is all about helping kids maintain their reading ability throughout the summer, by keeping a reading record. Johnson says kids have read 752 books so far this summer. The Reading Club wraps up with medals, prizes and a barbecue at 11 a.m. August 21 at the Library.
