Gallery: Canada 150 tree planting fun

On June 8 at the north side Houston community gardens, the Houston Link to Learning held a Canada 150 celebration sponsored by Tree Canada, Government of Canada, and the Bulkley Valley Foundation Canada 150. A total of 134 people attended the event to witness trees donated by Tree Canada to be planted on the site, participate in kid friendly activities including making ice cream, hula-hooping, and face painting, as well as enjoy a good meal from the garden afterwards.

A total of 134 people attended the event to witness trees donated by Tree Canada to be planted on the site, participate in kid friendly activities including making ice cream, hula-hooping, and face painting, as well as enjoy a good meal from the garden afterwards. “This year Tree Canada supported 150 community projects across the country,” said Megan Quinn, program manager of Canada 150 for Tree Canada. “It’s amazing to see the progress from words to tress in the ground and being able to support the Houston Link to Learning.”
