James Peter Johnson

It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a caring husband, father, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. James Peter Johnson, age 59, passed away in his sleep in the early hours of July 8, 2017.

Jim was born December 20, 1957 in Prince Rupert, BC, where he grew up and lived until moving to Houston in 1987 to work for the District of Houston. He retired in July of 2015. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marlee, his daughter, Taren (John) and his son, Kory. He is further survived by his brothers, Victor (Kerry) and Brian, his sisters Vickie-Lynn and Carol (Gerry), many amazing nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Alfil Johnson.

There will be no service as per his wishes.

Friends and family can join us at the Moose Pub in Prince Rupert from 4 pm to 7 pm on August 5th to raise a glass in his memory. The Moose Pub is located at 745 1st Avenue West.
