It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Hannelore Wesemeire (Hanne).

Born in Bochum, Germany, Hanne worked as a nurse. This is also where she met and married her husband Rudolf (Rudi) Wesemeire.

Rudi and Hanne immigrated to Canada in 1956. Taking up residency in Vancouver, B.C, Hanne worked at Vancouver General Hospital as a pharmaceutical technician.

Shortly after the passing of her husband Rudi in 1979, Hanne chose to move to Houston, B.C, to be closer to her brother Gerry Raudzus and his family. Hanne remained in Houston where she was employed at Rexall Drugs and then later on at Houston Forest Products. Hanne also enjoyed volunteering with organizations such as the Lion’s Club and the Houston Tourist Information Center. Hanne loved reading, tending to her flower garden, listening to opera music, and especially enjoyed her chocolate.

Hanne is survived by her niece Simone (Lee) Snyder, her great-nieces Chantel and Mikala Snyder, and her sister in-law Inge Raudzus.

Hanne will always be in our hearts and deeply missed by her family, numerous friends, and fellow residents at the Cottonwood Manor.

A celebration of life was held in Hanne’s memory on July 9th at the Houston Senior’s Center.
