Information from the public has led to the recovery of a vehicle associated to a missing Fraser Lake resident; however, after a ground and air search the person is still missing.

The RCMP continue to seek public assistance in locating 42-year-old Jerry (Keith) Krietz, who was reported missing on July 9, 2017.

On Aug. 3, 2017, police located his white 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier. Krietz had left Fraser Lake on July 7 in his vehicle with plans to go shopping in Prince George. He was expected to return to work on July 10, but failed to show up for work.

Investigators have learned that Krietz was observed in Prince George on the morning of July 8, where he checked out of a local motel and may have had plans to head towards the Lower Mainland. Krietz has not been seen nor heard from since.

Krietz had recently moved from Manitoba to Fraser Lake and did not know anyone other than family. According to the RCMP, he called his mother almost every day and it is “highly unusual” to not have regular contact with family members.

Krietz is described as caucasian, five feet 10 inches tall, 185 pounds, brown eyes, dark brown hair (however, it is usually shaved).

Anyone who may have information on the location of Krietz is asked to call the Fraser Lake RCMP at 250-699-7777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
